Wells Street Upgrade

The $4.239 million upgrade of Wells St has been all but wrapped up, with major construction work complete and planting and the installation of street furniture to continue after hours to avoid inconvenience to traders and shoppers.

The project, which was jointly funded by Frankston City Council and the State Government, was designed to improve pedestrian access and safety within Frankston’s premier retail and entertainment area and pave the way for future economic opportunities. Footpaths were widened and new paving placed to provide more space for kerbside trading and for people to shop, eat, relax and socialise. Additions include high-quality sculptural seating and feature lighting, more trees and new planter beds.
